Flames in Old Riga: popular bar The Sinners destroyed by fire

A fire destroyed approximately 300 square meters of The Sinners bar in Old Riga early this morning, forcing the immediate suspension of business operations.

The State Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD) received a call at 6:18 a.m. reporting a blaze at 11A Grēcinieku Street. The fire originated in public premises located on the ground floor of a six-storey residential building.

Emergency Response and Evacuations

Seven people were evacuated from the building during the incident. Three individuals exited before the arrival of emergency services, while rescuers evacuated an additional four people.

Firefighters managed to contain the spread of the flames by 7:21 a.m. The total affected area was recorded at 300 square meters.

Current Status of The Sinners Bar

Miks Galvanovskis, the owner of The Sinners bar, stated on Instagram that the fire broke out after closing hours for unknown reasons. He noted that the venue’s operations are currently suspended.

Firefighters continue to work at the scene, and traffic in the surrounding area remains restricted.
