Gerry Currid of Cartrontaylor, Ballintogher, Co. Sligo, and formerly of Charlestown, Co. Mayo and London, died peacefully at home on February 11, 2026, in the care of his wife, Eileen.

He was predeceased by his father, Bernard, and his mother, Alice.
Currid is survived by his wife, Eileen, and brothers John, Brian, and Patrick. He is also remembered by his aunt Peggy, brothers-in-law Brendan, Francis, John, Declan, and Dermot, sisters-in-law Rose and Mary, as well as nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Reposing will be held at McGowan’s Crematorium and Funeral Home, Collooney, Co. Sligo (F91 AKW5) on Friday evening, February 13th, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM.
The funeral will arrive at St. Theresa’s Church, Ballintogher, Co. Sligo on Saturday morning, February 14th, at 11:00 AM for Requiem Mass. Following the mass, the funeral will proceed to St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Kilglass, Co. Sligo for burial.
The family requests privacy at their home. Family flowers only are requested, with donations, if desired, to Dystonia Ireland, c/o The Foley and McGowan Funeral Home, Market Yard, Sligo.
