Morgan Wallen Claims Milestone Twenty-First No. 1 With “Don’t We”

Morgan Wallen has officially reached a rare career milestone on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart. After holding steady in second place behind Jason Aldean’s historic run with Don’t Tell on Me, Wallen’s single “Don’t We” ascended from second place to No. 1 on the chart dated Aug. 1, 2026. The track earned 33.6 million audience impressions between July 17 and July 23, according to data from Luminate.

This latest achievement marks Wallen’s twenty-first career champion on the competitive radio roster and his second new leader of 2026, following 20 Cigarettes, which climbed to the summit in February and held the position for two weeks. With this ascent, Wallen surpassed both Brad Paisley and Luke Combs, who each accumulated 20 leaders, and joined Keith Urban and Thomas Rhett in tying for the eighth-most rulers of all time in the chart’s history.

Historic Album Success From I’m the Problem

“Don’t We” makes history as the seventh Country Airplay No. 1 from Wallen’s 2025 full-length album, I’m the Problem. According to chart data, this makes the project the first set to spin off that many leaders using only an original version. Luke Combs’ album What You See Is What You Get also contains seven leaders, but those were earned between 2019 and 2021 by combining original and deluxe editions.

The run of chart-toppers from I’m the Problem began in November 2024 with Lies Lies Lies and continued with 20 Cigarettes, I Got Better, Just in Case, the title track, and Love Somebody. The album has maintained a firm grip on the Top Country Albums chart, leading the ranking for 45 weeks since its debut in May 2025 and outperforming the six chart-toppers generated by his 2023 release, One Thing at a Time.

Furthermore, the singer’s pace of triumphs has accelerated sharply in recent years. He has notched 16 of his 21 No. 1s since July 2022, including 10 since April 2024. After logging a career-best five leaders in 2024 and four in 2025, Wallen currently controls the top two positions on the Country Airplay chart, with Don’t We at No. 1 and his collaboration with Ella Langley, I Can’t Love You Anymore, climbing to a new all-time high of No. 2.

Beyond the Country Airplay chart, “Don’t We” has reached new peaks at No. 13 on Radio Songs and No. 21 on the Billboard Hot 100. As the coming weeks unfold, industry watchers note a strong possibility that Wallen could replace himself in the penthouse if his collaboration with Ella Langley advances just one more space, which would instantly deliver his twenty-second leader.
