The National Investment Authority announced the new cities to be established in a number of governorates.

The authority’s spokesman, Muthanna Al-Ghanmi, said in an interview with the (INA), “Great efforts are being made by the government of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani to solve a large part of the housing crisis identified in Iraq, through a precise government program that develops solutions to the housing challenge through a city-building strategy.” New and sustainable projects in Baghdad and the governorates,” indicating that “through the diligent steps of the National Investment Authority, it is working to develop and develop city projects by announcing them as major investment and strategic opportunities.”
He added, “The City of Al-Jawahiri was transferred according to a new investment method that secures the economic relationship between the investor and the state, as the investing company will grant a percentage of the plots serviced to the state for free,” pointing out that “the other new cities that will be announced will be transferred according to the same new investment method.”
He pointed out that “the cities will provide great opportunities for Iraqi labor,” stressing that “it is proposed to announce a new group of new cities in a number of governorates, including the city of Al-Mutanabbi in Wasit, the city of Al-Nakhil in Basra, the city of Al-Salam in Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf, and the city of Nasiriyah in Qar, and the city of Al-Furatin in Diwaniyah.”
