He added, “There are discussions between Iraq and neighboring countries, China and European countries in order to participate in this project, and at the forefront of these interested countries are Turkey, Iran, the Emirates and Qatar, and there are joint technical committees formed by Iraq to discuss with these countries the technical aspects of the project and the necessity of conforming to the specifications.” We are waiting for an international conference in the coming period.”
Al-Saadawi continued, “There is no conflict between the port of Al-Faw and the ports of the countries of the region, as there will be a process of economic integration between them, especially since the shipping lines of the ports are exactly like oil markets, and all countries that have oil, and indeed when they market their oil, they do not stop the exports of other countries, and everyone is working to The marketing of its oil and the shipping lines of the ports also do not conflict with each other, but rather each port has its own market, and there will be integration between these ports.”
Al-Saadawi stated, “There are three components of the development road project: the first is the Grand Al-Faw Port, the second is the railway road, and the third is the land highway. The completion rates in the Grand Al-Faw Port for the five dock projects reached 85%, the road linking Al-Faw Port and Umm Qasr 56%, and the tunnel.” Submerged 35%, offshore drilling and backfilling 66%, and the navigation channel 39%.
Al-Saadawi stated that “the completion rates for the initial designs for the railway on the development road reached 53%, the basic design for the land highway reached 31%, and the total completion rate for the contract works is 43%, and there is great progress, and the Italian consulting company that was used in the project is now At the stage of conducting soil tests, conflicts with the governorates through which the development road project passes must also be resolved, and the first two governorates whose procedures have been completed are Al-Muthanna and Diwaniyah.
He stated that “a joint committee was formed from the Iraqi and Turkish Ministries of Transport, with membership in the Iraqi Prime Minister’s Office, to discuss development road projects, and several meetings were held in Baghdad and Ankara. A Turkish delegation also visited the border point with Fish Khabour in the far north of Iraq. Turkey also completed, in consultation with the Italian advisor to the Iraqi Ministry of Transport, all The technical aspects that matched the vision and specifications set by the Italian advisor to the Iraqi Ministry of Transport, and also next week the Iraqi formed committee will go to Ankara to discuss the remaining details of the project.”
