Our national handball team lost its fateful match to its Kuwaiti counterpart in the third and final round of the second group of the 21st Asian Cup, currently being held in Bahrain, which qualifies for the 2025 World Cup finals.
The correspondent of the (INA) stated, “Our team lost the match with a score of (20-32) goals in the match that was held today at the Khalifa Sports Hall in Isa Town. It did not appear at the expected level and suffered a lot against the Kuwaiti team, whose players played a great match that qualified them to achieve victory.” And ensuring qualification to the World Cup finals (2025).”
He added, “Our national team had the opportunity to qualify if it achieved victory over the Kuwaiti team, then wait for Bahrain’s victory over Korea to advance alongside Bahrain.”
With this result, the Kuwaiti team has 4 points from two draws and one victory, temporarily at the top of the standings, ensuring qualification to the semi-finals. Iraq’s balance is frozen at one point in last place, and it will compete in the ranking matches for seventh place.
