Today, Friday, the Federal Integrity Commission announced that it had executed an arrest and investigation order against the current director of the Anbar Agriculture Directorate, on charges of committing the crime of bribery.
Speaking about the details of the operation that took place according to a judicial warrant, according to a statement received by the (INA), the Commission stated that “a team from the Commission’s investigation office in Baghdad, in cooperation with the Anbar Investigation Office, executed the arrest warrant issued against the director of the province’s Agriculture Directorate on the grounds of a charge related to paying… Rasha,” explaining that “the details of the case indicate that the accused was involved in paying sums of money amounting to (70) thousand dollars to influential parties in exchange for closing the complaint regarding his sister, whose name was wrongfully included in the agricultural plan.”
She added, “His sister was receiving pesticides, wheat seeds, and fertilizers, even though she did not own agricultural land,” indicating that “the operation was carried out in accordance with a memorandum issued by the judge of the Second Karkh Investigation Court based on the provisions of Resolution (160 of 1983).”
He stressed that “a report was prepared regarding the operation to be presented with the accused to the competent investigating judge to determine his fate.”
