Sirma Karapeeva will be stepping down as CEO of the Meat Industry Association (MIA) on March 6, 2026, after serving as a key link between government and the red meat sector.

Karapeeva has been a tireless contributor for the MIA, meat companies, and the wider red meat sector, according to a statement from the organization.
During her time as CEO, she provided an excellent link between government and industry, leading the MIA to strengthen its wider industry partnerships.
This collaboration proved especially beneficial as the industry addressed challenges and adopted a more aligned approach, the MIA stated.
Karapeeva will assist with transitional matters before her departure. The organization will begin a recruitment process shortly to find her replacement.
