English international star Dele Alli, Everton player, suffered a new setback, continuing his absence from the field.
Alli played on loan last season with Besiktas in Turkey, before returning to Everton. Alli did not play any matches this season, and his last match with Besiktas was last February. Alli had recently come close to returning to training, but he will now have to wait for a while due to a new setback.
Alli wrote on his Instagram account: “This year was a little different for me. I learned and experienced a lot, and went through periods of ups and downs.”
He added: “Unfortunately, the year did not end as I had hoped. I was about to return to full training, but it is disappointing that I suffered another setback due to my injury.”
He continued: “I will be absent again for a short period, but my outlook and mentality are positive. I will continue my physical therapy and do my best to return to the field as soon as possible.”
He concluded: “I hope you had the year you wanted, and I wish you nothing but the best in 2024. Happy New Year.”
Alli’s contract with Everton extends until the summer of 2024.
