Today, Thursday, the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Ankara, Majid Al-Lajmawi, reviewed with the Speaker of the Grand Turkish National Assembly, Numan Kurtulmuş, the overall situation and challenges facing the region.
A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received by the (INA), said: “The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Ankara, Majid Al-Lajmawi, met today with the Speaker of the Grand Turkish National Assembly, Numan Kurtulmuş, in the Council building in the capital, Ankara.”
The statement added, “During the meeting, Iraqi-Turkish relations were discussed, and ways to strengthen them in a way that serves the interests of the two neighboring peoples. The two sides also reviewed the overall situation and challenges facing the region.”
The ambassador stressed – according to the statement – “the importance of work and coordination between the parliaments of the two countries, strengthening relations and exchanging visits between officials of the two countries, and continuing support and enhancing cooperation in all fields.”
The statement concluded by saying, “The Speaker of the Turkish National Assembly said: We are in dire need to activate the commonalities that bring together the peoples of the region and to join efforts in combating terrorism and the importance of increasing security coordination until it is eliminated.”
