Latvian Minister of Agriculture Armands Krauze visited Khankendi on April 16 to review ongoing reconstruction efforts in the city.
Krauze, who also serves as the co-chair of the Azerbaijan-Latvia Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, led a delegation during the trip. He was welcomed by Gasim Ibrahimov, Advisor to the Special Representative of the President in the Khankendi, Aghdara, and Khojaly districts.
The visiting party included representatives from the Azerbaijani Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Culture, and the Food Safety Agency. During the visit, officials informed the delegation that Khankendi is currently undergoing large-scale reconstruction following years of occupation and destruction.
Reconstruction Efforts in Khankendi
As part of the Latvian Minister visit to Khankendi, the delegation toured various construction sites, Zafar Park, Zafar Square, and Garabagh University.
Minister Krauze expressed confidence that Azerbaijan can utilize the best practices of Latvia and other partner countries to support its reconstruction and rebuilding work.
