The head of the National Wisdom Movement, Mr. Ammar al-Hakim, stressed the necessity of developing the police force and reducing dependence on human effort.
Mr. Al-Hakim said in a statement received by the (INA), that he met with the Minister of the Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, and he blessed him and through him the employees of the Ministry of Interior on the occasion of the Iraqi Police Day, praising the great efforts made by the Ministry’s officers and ranks in establishing security, and we also have mercy on their martyrs who They gave their lives defending Iraq.
He called for fairness to the employees of the Ministry of Interior in terms of amending the salary scale and raising the nominal salary so that those referred to retirement can enjoy a rewarding salary like their civilian peers, calling for the provision of decent housing for all as the simplest right that the employee obtains during his long service to the Iraqi state.
He stressed developing the police force and reducing reliance on human effort and replacing it with modern and electronic systems, emphasizing reducing military appearances in cities and replacing them with intelligence efforts.
He warned of the growing phenomenon of human trafficking and drug abuse, stressing the importance of modernizing methods in confronting this dangerous phenomenon, including targeting the big heads of this society-destroying trade.
He continued: We also called for attention to the community police and their empowerment so that they can address social problems before they reach the court stage. We also called for attention to the departments that have direct contact with citizens, as it is known that the Ministry of Interior accompanies the citizen from the moment of his birth until the moment of his death, and we stressed governance and modern applications in Delivery of these services.
