Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Refining Affairs, Hamid Younis, announced today, Saturday, the successful operation of the fourth refining unit at the South Refineries Company and the commencement of fuel oil production with a capacity of 50 thousand barrels per day.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry said in a statement received by the (INA): “These projects were achieved through national efforts, thanks to the support of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani and the diligent follow-up of the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and the Minister of Oil, which translates what was stated in the government program into reality.” He stressed that “this achievement is a source of pride for the refinery sector and the oil sector in general.”
The agent added, “This achievement was achieved through the national effort, appreciating and praising the sincere efforts of the workers at the South Refineries Company and its supporting entities from the oil sector, where the precision machinery work was completed and the DCS system and the ESD system were installed,” noting, “The Ministry’s strategy aims to increase Refining energy through the implementation of a number of investment refineries, and increasing the number of production units in order to achieve self-sufficiency, meet local needs, and stop imports in support of the national economy.”
