The Minister of Youth and Sports, Ahmed Al-Mubarqa, confirmed that the return of work at Al-Tajiyat Stadium has become certain in the near future, after solutions were reached to the legal problems that caused work to stop there previously.
Al-Mubarqa said in a statement to a program shown on the Al-Iraqiya Sports Screen and followed by the (INA), that “the cessation of work at Al-Tajiyat Stadium is due to technical and legal reasons, including the necessity of calculating a spare order that exceeds the powers of the competent minister and the Ministry of Planning as well.”
Al-Mubarqa added, “The Ministry of Youth worked to solve these problems through coordination with the Ministry of Planning, which requested the entry of a third party to bring the views between the two ministries closer together, provided that it be from a governmental body. The Engineers Syndicate was sought, which reached logical solutions. In turn, the Ministry of Planning will raise The final report will be sent to the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers to be included in the Council’s agenda to take the final decision in this regard.”
The Minister of Youth continued: “The Iranian company contracting to implement the stadium has been granted the necessary approvals to bring its equipment from Dohuk to Baghdad to begin work after the issuance of the final decision,” noting that “the implementing company had previously, during the past days, carried out cleaning work on the site in preparation for the return of work on the project.” “Which is long overdue.”
