Fog has disrupted domestic flights at Auckland Airport, causing cancellations and delays on Tuesday morning. Restrictions came into effect just before 5 a.m., impacting regional travel.
Auckland Airport Flights Disrupted by Fog
Thirteen departing domestic regional flights have been cancelled, affecting services to Napier, Nelson, Palmerston North, Taupō, Gisborne, New Plymouth, Queenstown, Christchurch and Wellington.
An equal number of arriving domestic regional flights have also been cancelled, including services from Napier, Palmerston North, New Plymouth, Taupō, Gisborne, Queenstown, Christchurch and Wellington.
Two departing flights to Tauranga and Invercargill have been delayed, as well as three domestic mainline flights to Queenstown.
International services have not been affected by the fog.
One passenger reported waiting on the tarmac for nearly two hours, with their 7:15 a.m. flight still delayed at 9 a.m.
