Iran retaliates after U.S.-Israel strikes; Trump calls for regime change

Israel is collaborating with the U.S. on strikes across Iran, according to an Israeli military official, following intelligence indicating an acceleration of Iran’s ballistic missile program. The official stated the offensive aims to significantly reduce the capabilities of the Iranian regime.

Iran’s Nuclear Program and Recent Strikes

The official said Iran’s government has been working to conceal and fortify its nuclear program to continue its advancement.

Rafael Grossi, director general of the U.N.’s International Atomic Energy Agency, stated in a recent interview with French network TF1 that most of Iran’s enriched uranium remained intact after U.S. strikes on nuclear facilities in June 2025. The interview, posted online 10 days ago, also revealed that there was no indication Iran was working to develop a nuclear weapons capacity.

β€œNo,” Grossi told TF1 when asked if the IAEA saw evidence of Iran trying to work toward a weapon, adding: β€œOn the contrary, I see, today, a willingness on both sides to reach an agreement.”

Grossi explained that while some material may be less accessible, β€œmost of the material that Iran had accumulated up until June of last year…is still there, in large quantities, where it was at the time of the strikes.” He emphasized the urgency of reaching an agreement to prevent further military action in the region.

Grossi was directly involved in recent indirect talks between U.S. and Iranian delegations in Geneva, Switzerland, last week.

The Israeli military official said Saturday that initial strike targets included both practical objectives to create more freedom of operation and β€œessential personnel,” but declined to provide further details on who was targeted.
