New Japanese sanctions against Russia include companies from Arab countries »

Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry reported that the government has imposed a new package of sanctions against Russia, including export restrictions on 57 companies.

The new sanctions included freezing the assets in the event of disclosure to 35 individuals and 43 legal entities, in addition to imposing restrictions on a number of companies from the Emirates, Armenia, Syria, and Uzbekistan.

The Ministry indicated that in addition, as of next January 1, the import of diamonds from Russia for non-industrial use will be prohibited.

The new Japanese export restrictions affect a number of industrial, aviation, defense, shipbuilding and research enterprises in Russia, including the Ural Civil Aviation Plant, the Ulan-Ude Aerospace Industries Plant, the Khabarovsk Shipyard, the Vostochnaya Shipyard, and others, and the list of individuals has not yet been published. And institutions whose assets will be frozen if discovered.

Sanctions have been imposed on some foreign companies that Tokyo believes are helping Russia bypass restrictions, including two companies from the United Arab Emirates, one from Armenia, one from Syria, and two from Uzbekistan.
