The Secretary of Health of the State, Geraldo Medeiros, spoke about the publication of a new decree on Wednesday (2) and explained that more restrictive measures are needed to contain the contamination by the coronavirus in Paraíba.
Geraldo stressed that the increase in Covid-19 cases does not follow the number of available beds and effective measures are needed to curb the progress of the disease in the state.
– It is a reality that has been configured in recent days, with a growing number of new confirmed cases and the borderline occupation of beds in the adult ICU and infirmary and a high viral circulation in the three macro-regions, hence the need for this decree – he said.
According to Geraldo, the decree restricts the operation of bars and restaurants until 4 pm and prohibits the presence of these establishments during the weekend.
The decree goes into effect from this Thursday (3) and is valid until the next 18th.
