President Yoon Seok-yeol made a statement to the effect of absorption unification, saying that it is common sense to be unified centering on a well-off system.

In a New Year’s work report by the Ministry of Unification and the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, which was held yesterday (27th) at the Blue House guesthouse, President Yoon said that unification should be in a better way, saying that if the South lives much better, it is common sense to unify around the South Korean system.

He also said that unification will come suddenly, and that a cool-headed judgment and preparation are needed rather than an emotional approach as a Korean.

President Yoon went on to emphasize that the world, our people, and North Koreans should be able to accurately know and share the reality of North Korea.

Regarding the human rights issue in North Korea, he added that it is important to share the reality and political and social situation in North Korea.

Along with this, he said that various information obtained through North Korean defectors should be used for unification and disclosed to the public.

In response, Minister of Unification Kwon Young-se explained that the intention is that if the overall situation in North Korea is widely spread to the public, the contents can eventually be returned to North Korea.
