When you have the willpower to wake up at 5 in the morning and jump out of bed straight into a cold bath, you can get everything you want.
At least that's how it feels, according to Twitter co-founder and CEO Jack Dorsey, whose routine has been described as "spartan" but also "crazy".
Dorsey revealed part of her daily life in a podcast program specializing in fitness, in which she said she ate once a day, fasted a lot of the weekend and walked 8 kilometers a day to get to her office.
The 42-year-old billionaire has also stood out for his attitude towards his own salary in the successful company he leads.
Unlike other directors of large companies, the entrepreneur decided at the beginning of his successful project that he would not receive a salary paid by the company.
A decade after creating Twitter, the billionaire received his first salary: for a symbolic amount of $ 1.40 (yes, a dollar and 40 cents), according to a statement from the company filed with the US regulatory authorities.
The amount was a nod to the character limit imposed by Twitter at the beginning of its creation (140), in 2006.
Meditation, one of the keys
Although it resembles many other Silicon Valley entrepreneurs in many ways, Dorsey's routine for staying physically and mentally fit is very different from most.
The co-founder of Twitter explained to the podcast program Ben Greenfield Fitness that his daily rituals begin very soon: with the singing of the birds.
Early in the morning, Dorsey goes into ice water for periods of three minutes, alternating these with 15 minutes of sauna at 104 degrees Celsius.
After that, he meditates for an hour.

It is a practice he has been doing for 20 years and he considers it very beneficial.
Dorsey has defended the benefits of mindfulness on different occasions. In a Twitter comment after a period of "spiritual retreat" in Burma, he said:
"For 10 days, without electronic devices, without reading, writing, without physical exercise, without music, without alcoholic beverages, without meat, without conversations, or even without personal contact with other people, it is free: everything is provided by meditators of a charity organization. "
In the hour-long podcast, the entrepreneur said he only made "one big meal a day", around 6:30 in the afternoon, usually with protein and salad. After that: fruit and dark chocolate.
Dorsey argues that his lifestyle makes him much more focused during the day and ready to manage the pressures of his work.
No financial problems
In relation to his salary, Dorsey does look more like other important executives in the United States.
Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook) or Larry Page (Google) receive a salary of only 1 dollar a year.
There is also the case of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, the richest man in the world, who has a base salary of $ 81,840 a year, the same he received in 1998.

The "key" of their symbolic salaries is that their income comes from other sources.
In the case of the CEO of Twitter, his fortune – valued at 5,000 million dollars, according to the specialized magazine Forbes – is based on the benefits he receives from his actions on Twitter and Square, a mobile payment firm he co-founded in 2009.
With more than 300 million users per month, Twitter's earnings reached a record 909 million in the last quarter of 2018, an increase of 24%, driven partially by video ads.
Dorsey currently owns 2.3% of the shares of Twitter, after in 2016 it gave a third of its shareholding to the workers of the firm (for a value close to 250 million dollars).
And in the case of Square, the entrepreneur has about 60 million shares, whose value has risen from $ 9 in 2015 to more than 75.
