JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – President Joko Widodo dismissed the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling Covid-19.
Instead, there is now a Covid-19 Handling Task Force under the Coordinating Minister for the Economy.
The Covid-19 Task Force remains chaired by BNPB Head Doni Monardo.
However, there was a change of position in the position of Spokesperson (spokesman) of the Covid-19 Task Force.
Previously, Ahmad Yurianto was assigned as the Spokesperson of the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling of Covid-19.

Now, after changing to the Covid-19 Task Force, the position of Spokesman was entrusted to Wiku Adisasmito.
Prof. Wiku previously held the position of Team Leader for the Task Force for the Co-19 Handling Acceleration.
The change of position of the spokesman was confirmed by Yurianto.
“It was announced by the Coordinating Minister for the Economy (Airlangga Hartarto),” said the man who is familiarly called Yuri when confirmed. Kompas.com, Tuesday (7/21/2020).
The announcement meant that Yuri’s position as spokesperson for the government was replaced by Wiku Adisasmito. The changes take effect starting Tuesday.
On duty 140 days
The Ministry of Health social media page on Tuesday night uploaded a thank you for the 140 days of performance conducted by Yuri.
For 140 days, at 15:30 West Indonesia Time Yuri provided information on the daily data development of the Covid-19 case that was broadcast live live by television, radio, and official government social media.
In addition, Yuri became a media destination to ask for information about the handling of Covid-19 in Indonesia.
President Joko Widodo appointed Achmad Yurianto as a spokesperson for the handling and prevention of the corona virus on March 3, 2020.
Yuri was then Secretary of the Directorate General of Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) Ministry of Health.

As Co-19 Handling Spokesperson, Yuri’s job is to answer questions related to the corona virus.
He actively gives statements to the media crew, even since the corona virus has not been detected in Indonesia.
Yuri admitted that being able to fulfill her duties as a spokesman was an honor for her.
He also expressed his gratitude for the support from various parties while he was in charge.
“The duty of the state is honor and I am greatly helped by the support of friends in the media,” Yuri said.
Even though he is no longer serving as a spokesman, Yuri will still be in contact with the handling of Covid-19.
Because, he can now refocus on the Directorate General of Disease Prevention and Control (Dirjen P2P) Ministry of Health as the Director General of P2P.
“I’m focused on P2P, and Covid-19 is also a P2P problem,” Yuri said.

He said, although he was not busy as a spokesman, there were other responsibilities awaiting him at the Director General of P2P.
“There are still many problems that I have to solve (tuberculosis, DHF, malaria, HIV, etc.),” Yuri said.
Achmad Yurianto’s position as Government Spokesperson for Covid-19 has now been replaced by Wiku Adisasmito.
Before becoming a spokesperson, he served as Team Leader in the Task Force for the Co-19 Handling Acceleration Task Force.
Wiku Adisasmito said President Joko Widodo appointed himself as the spokesperson to replace Achmad Yurianto.
This was conveyed when he gave his inaugural press statement as Spokesperson for the Co-19 Handling Task Force, Tuesday (7/21/2020) afternoon.
“As stated by Mr. Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto as Chair of the Covid-19 Policy Control and National Economic Recovery Committee, the President has appointed me as the Spokesperson of the Covid-19 Task Force Handling Unit,” Wiku said at a press conference at the Presidential Palace.
According to Wiku, the statement was made by Airlangga in a press statement Tuesday afternoon.

The man born in Malang on February 20, 1964 has the full name and title Prof. drh. Wiku Bakti Bawono Adisasmito, MSc. Ph.D.
Citing the official website of the University of Indonesia, he successfully obtained a bachelor’s degree and veterinarian from the Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) in 1995.
He then completed his postgraduate education, both S-2 (1998) and S-3 (1995) at Colorado State University (CSU).

Daily cases are not announced immediately
Starting Tuesday (07/21/2020), various explanations about the development of Covid-19 in Indonesia were delivered by Wiku Adisasmito.
“I represent the Covid-19 Task Force, conveying the latest developments,” Wiku said at a press conference at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday afternoon.
With the issuance of Presidential Regulation No. 82 of 2020 concerning the Covid-19 Handling Committee and National Economic Recovery, this regulation aims to strengthen the Covid-19 management organization.
He also mentioned, the announcement of the development of the Covid-19 daily case was no longer published in a press conference.
Instead, that information can be seen on the official page www.covid19.go.id.
“There was a change in the daily case announcements previously announced by the Director General of P2P Ministry of Health Achamd Yurianto to further update the daily cases. www.covid19.go.id, “said Wiku.

The fate of Reisa Broto Asmoro
So, what about Reisa Broto Asmoro who previously also shared information about Covid-19?
When confirmed Kompas.com, Head of Public Relations of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Rita Rosita said Reisa was still included in the Covid-19 Handling Task Force team led by Doni Monardo.
