MOSCOW, Nov. 3 – RIA News. The founder of Tesla, Ilon Musk, called 2018 the worst in life because of the problems associated with the production of the Model 3 electric car.
"It was terrible. To be honest, this year I seemed to have aged by five years. The worst year in my career. Insanely painful," the entrepreneur told in an interview to the Recode portal.
According to Mask, he often had to work on the Tesla project 120 hours a week.
"There were times when I slept a couple of hours, worked, slept, worked again and so seven days a week. 120 hours or something just as crazy. Working so much, you fly off the coils. Now I work 80-90 hours a week "This is still all right", – said the billionaire.
Previously, the businessman admitted that the company may have had too ambitious plans when developing the Model X. Thus, the interior of the budget Model 3 was simplified to reduce the time of production of the car.
In 2018, Tesla is struggling to maintain the level of production and fulfillment of orders already received. In August, the company reported a record loss of $ 771.5 million in the second quarter. In the first quarter, this figure reached 710 million.
In October, Ilon Musk resigned from the post of chairman of the board of directors of Tesla under the terms of an agreement with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, which accused a businessman of fraud. At the same time, the founder of the company retained the position of its general director.
