In the midst of an operation coordinated by authorities in the rural area of Fortul, one of the presumed leaders of the Domingo Laín Sáenz Front of the ELN was captured.
In the midst of the combat, the two presumed members of the ELN were captured: alias Danner, presumed main leader of the Rafael Villamizar commission, who would have been in the organization for more than 30 years; and alias Mendez or Piscingo, alleged second in command.
According to the information revealed by the authorities, the military offensive was carried out in the town of Buenos Aires, a rural area of the municipality of Fortul, where there was a confrontation with these individuals.
Alias Danner, say the authorities, would be “in charge of drug trafficking routes, extortion collection, selective homicides and offensive actions against the Public Force and the civilian population.
In the place, war and quartermaster material was seized, among them: two 9-millimeter pistols, magazines for the same, 30 cartridges, a shotgun, communications equipment and important documents for the analysis of military intelligence.
