Great activity in the offices of the Celtics in the last hours with two separate operations that have involved the departure of the team from Tristan Thompson and the arrival of Josh Richardson coming from Dallas Mavericks.
To get Josh Richardson the Celtics have used a transfer exception generated from the signing and transfer agreement that led to Gordon Hayward Charlotte Hornets in November 2020, as advanced Shams Charania (The Athletic).
The exception used is estimated at $ 11 million and Richardson has a player option in his last year of contract (2021-2022 season) that amounts to $ 11.6 million.
Richardson played the season just ended in Dallas after being acquired by the Texan team in an operation that led the Sixers to Seth Curry, but his performance on the Mavs throughout the course was not as expected.
After this move Dallas will have more than 33 million dollars in salary space for free agency.
Boston, meanwhile, currently has 13 players with fully guaranteed contracts and is around $ 5 million below the projection of the luxury rate for the 2021-2022 season.
