Bundesliga leaders Dortmund had to accept a deserved defeat after a furious 4-0 triumph at home in the second leg at Atletico Madrid. Although BVB initially controlled the match, the home side scored after just over half an hour: Saúl Ñíguez fired from ten meters after a double pass with Filipe Luis, but Manuel Akanji was able to reach the ball but failed to clear (33 minutes).

As a result, Madrid came to another good chance, but missed it for a long time, nachzulegen more goals. Tottenham is third in the table with four points, three points behind Inter Milan, who played against FC Barcelona. By the victory, the Spurs true the chance to move into the second round.

SSC Napoli have drawn a draw against Paris St.-Germain and are in the same league table as Liverpool, who had been mauling in Belgrade.
