The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed a contract with Larry Drew for the remainder of the 2018-19 season, the team said Monday.
"We are very pleased to have reached this agreement with Coach Drew to keep the team on the field," said GM Koby Altman in a statement head coach. We look forward to seeing how he can influence the team and help our players grow and succeed. "
According to a report by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the deal includes a partial guarantee for next season. Drew had reportedly reluctantly accepted the coaching position of the team without restructuring his contract.
Drew is the head coach for the remainder of this season and has an agreement for 2019-20 if Cavs chooses him or a buyout payment if the team decides to hire a new coach. https://t.co/Jseeh7U20U

Drew took over the Cavaliers as interim coach when Tyronn Lue was officially released on October 28.
The Cavaliers are 1-2 as Lue was released at 1-8 during the season.
