Incidence value in North Rhine-Westphalia drops to 5.9 – Höxter continues at zero

The incidences in North Rhine-Westphalia continue to fall, on Saturday it was 6.2. Most of the new infections are still in Hagen, at least in the Höxter district. An overview of the counties and cities with the highest incidences.

In North Rhine-Westphalia, the seven-day incidence of new corona infections continued to decrease slightly. According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the value on Saturday was 5.9 after 6.2 on the previous day and 6.4 on Friday.

The development is particularly striking in the Höxter district: there, the health authorities reported a value of 0.0 for the third day in a row. The vast majority of NRW municipalities now have single-digit values ​​for the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days. Only six of 53 municipalities are still in double digits. The front runner is Oberbergische Kreis. There the incidence rose slightly in the past few days to 13.2 after the value on June 25th had been 9.6.

NRW is still just above the national figure for the number of new infections, which was 5.7 on Sunday. 123 new infections were recorded in the most populous federal state within 24 hours. There were also 1 coronavirus-related death. Since the beginning of the pandemic there have been 17,113 in NRW.

Appointments for the vaccination centers will be released in NRW for all those willing to vaccinate: From Saturday, 25. June, anyone can book an appointment in one of the 53 centers nationwide.

The mask requirement outdoors was largely lifted nationwide on Monday in North Rhine-Westphalia according to the new Corona Protection Ordinance. The exception is the metropolis of Cologne. There, the crisis team had extended the mask requirement in public spaces. A corresponding general decree is valid up to and including June 28th.

The state government has started to relax steps in three incidence value levels: Level 1 with the most extensive openings applies to a new infection rate of less than 35 cases per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days. Stage 2 occurs at a seven-day incidence of 35 to 50. And level 3 applies to an incidence of 50 to 100. You can read here what the individual levels mean for relaxation in practice.
