A total of 39 confirmed cases and two deaths is the balance of the coronavirus in Puerto Rico as of Tuesday, March 24, according to information from the Department of Health.

From yesterday, Monday, to today, eight more positive cases were reported, including three additional cases linked to the Veterans Hospital. It is about seven men and one woman. Two of the men belong to the metropolitan region and are 36 and 49 years old, respectively.

Another of the men is from the Caguas region and is 64 years old, while the other resides in the Bayamón region and is 30 years old. The woman belongs to the Fajardo region and is 50 years old.

While, the three positive results of Veterans are about three men at the ages of 66, 69 and 34 years, respectively.

Case-by-case breakdown of positives for COVID-19 in Puerto Rico

1. A 68-year-old Italian tourist who arrived in Puerto Rico on March 8 with symptoms aboard the Costa Luminosa cruise ship. The woman was detained at Ashford Hospital in San Juan. He passed away from the disease.

2. The husband of 70 years of the Italian woman, who remained in isolation, but had no symptoms.

3. A 72-year-old man who was initially refused by state authorities to be tested. The patient had to be admitted to the Auxilio Mutuo Hospital, where he remained in the intensive care unit.

4. An 87-year-old California man aboard a cruise ship passing through the Mona Channel. He was transported to the Mayagüez Medical Center Hospital. This man recovered and was discharged after the last test was negative.

5. A 65-year-old woman, resident in the Mayagüez region, who had traveled to New York.

6. A 68-year-old man who was treated at the Veterans Hospital. The health center discharged him with quarantine instructions.

7. A 68-year-old man from the metropolitan area. He had a history of traveling to Florida.

8. A 60-year-old man from the Mayagüez region, who had a history of traveling to Florida.

9. A 65-year-old man reported to the Veterans hospital.

10. A 55-year-old woman reported at the Veterans hospital.

11. A 57-year-old man reported to the Veterans hospital.

12. A 33-year-old man reported in the Veterans hospital.

13. A 71-year-old man reported in the Veterans hospital.

14. A 37-year-old woman reported in the Veterans hospital.

15. A 78-year-old man living in the metro region. He had no travel history.

16. A 56-year-old man from the Bayamón region who had contact with people from abroad.

17. A 73-year-old man from New York who died in hospital. According to a New York Times journalist, his name was Arnold Obey, a retired school principal, who came to Puerto Rico on vacation with his wife.

18. A 75-year-old man reported to the Veterans hospital.

19. A 40-year-old man reported to the Veterans hospital.

20. An 81-year-old man reported to the Veterans hospital.

21. An 84-year-old man reported in the Veterans hospital.

22. A 54-year-old woman in the Mayagüez region. No further information on the person has been provided.

23. A 75-year-old man in the Mayagüez region. No further information on the person has been provided.

24. A 43-year-old man from the metropolitan area.

25. An 88-year-old man from the Mayagüez region.

26. A 30-year-old woman from the metropolitan area.
