Cryptocurrency mining – Iran has banned this activity until the end of the summer

It is noted that the consumption of electricity has sharply increased in the country recently. One of the reasons for this was the increase in the number of those who are engaged in cryptocurrency mining. According to the Iranian Ministry of Energy, 175 thousand miners and more than 2.6 thousand illegal cryptocurrency centers were discovered in the country over the past year.

“In the current situation, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Energy, Industry and Information and Communication Technologies – all must by the end of the month of Shakhrivar (until September 22 – ed.) Stop activities related to cryptocurrency mining,” the message says.

It is emphasized that from today this activity is prohibited for everyone. “Even those who were allowed to do this are no longer entitled to the end of the Shahrivar,” Rouhani said.

According to him, the ban on cryptocurrency mining will remain until “until the problem of providing the population with electricity is resolved.”

Note that in Ukraine they started talking about the possibility of legalizing cryptocurrencies. On the territory of the country, the situation with “miners” is not regulated at all.

As the head of the cyber police department Alexander Grinchak said in an interview with RBC-Ukraine, many crimes – from murders, extortion, hijacking and ending with drugs – all these atrocities can be associated with cryptocurrency.

Recall that a cryptocurrency mining farm was exposed in Krivoy Rog. The organizers illegally connected to power grids, including utilities. Criminal proceedings have been opened.

Note that in the Ternopil region, they mined cryptocurrency at the expense of Ukrzaliznytsia.
