Open-air concert “Tiguļkalnā”
Saturday, June 3, at 20.00 Raimonds Tigula’s open-air concert “Tiguļkalns” will be held for the 12th time in Talsi, where every year the composer invites his musical friends and associates together on the highest of the nine hills of the city, creating a special emotional evening for every concertgoer.
Composer Raimonds Tiguls and actor Kaspars Znotiņš will commemorate poet Imantas Ziedonis on the occasion of his 90th anniversary in a joint performance. Cellist Inga Ozola, harpist Ieva Šablovska and pianist Rihards Plešanovs will visit Tigulkalnis this year. In their performance, you will have the opportunity to hear Raymond Tigula’s new work “It’s Time”. The resident musicians of Tiguļkalns concerts – guitarist Rihards Lībietis and bassist Roberts Rasa – will perform with a solo program. The string orchestra will have the opportunity to hear the music composed by Raimonds Tigula for the film “Mother’s Milk” by Inara Kolmane.
On the way to the Song Festival, the most beautiful choir songs of Raimonds Tigula will be performed by the youth choir “Kamēr…”, Renārs Kauper and conductor Jurģ Cābulis. The program will include both new compositions and several popular songs of the composer “Lec, Saulīte” and “Give, Dieviņi” which have already been performed at the Song and Dance Festival.
