Venezuelan actor Édgar Ramírez shone on the red carpet of Jungle Cruise with Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson “The Rock” this Saturday, July 24.
In a dark suit contrasted with a shirt and casual white shoes, Ramírez participated in the gala for the premiere of the Disney film.
Inspired by the Disneyland attraction of the same name, the production takes place on a journey through the Amazon with the witty Captain Frank Wolff (Dwayne Johnson, “The Rock”) and the intrepid researcher Dr. Lily Houghton (Emily Blunt).
Lily travels from London, England, to the Amazon rainforest and enlists Frank’s questionable services to guide her downstream in La Quila, his battered but charming boat. Lily is determined to discover an ancient tree with unique healing properties that has the power to change the future of medicine.
Together, in this epic quest, the duo face supernatural forces and myriad dangers that await lurking in the deceptive beauty of the lush jungle. But as the secrets of the lost tree are revealed, the dangers increase even further for Lily and Frank, and their fate – and that of humanity – hang by a thread.
Édgar Ramírez is the villain of the story. The character he will give life to has a unique characteristic: he has snakes attached to most of his body. The actor from Tachi adds among his projects the Florida Man series and the film adaptation of the video game Borderlands, which is being developed by Lionsgate.
Jaume Collet-Serra is directing the film, from a script by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa.
