Five people died due to earthquake in Iran
An earthquake of magnitude 5.9 occurred in Iran, informs Press TV with reference to authorities.
The channel notes that the earthquake occurred in the Iranian province of East Azerbaijan, near the city of Tark. Its depth was 8 km. In neighboring cities repeated shocks of magnitude 4.1 and 4.8 occurred.
The head of the Crisis Management Center, Mohammed Baker Honar, said that eight rescue teams were sent to the scene. He told Tansim that five people were killed and 120 were injured. In Turkmanchay district 30 houses were destroyed.
The agency notes that the provincial governor announced the complete destruction of 30 villages in the region.
