Quality of life, job market, cost of living, economic dynamism, where do we live best in France? This Tuesday, October 4, the employment platform Hellowork has published its list of major French cities where it is good to live and work. This is the 5th edition of a survey on the attractiveness of 22 largest French cities. Dijon (Côte-d’Or) finished 5th in this ranking.

Dijon well ranked in terms of transport

This ranking produced by Hellowork averages different categories : the geographical environment, the cost of living, the job market, leisure, security, access to housing, transport/traffic, economic dynamism, infrastructure and soft mobility.

Among these criteria, it is at the level of transports that the city with a hundred steeples is the best ranked. In fact, she ends second behind Strasbourg. Among the other criteria, Dijon is 4th in terms of Security5th in life quality and 3rd in infrastructures.

Medium-sized cities attract

The investigation reveals that mid-sized cities are gaining ground this year to the detriment of large cities. Thus Brest, Clermont-Ferrand (4th in 2022, 9th in 2021), Dijon (5th) or even Tours (6th in 2022, 8th in 2021) are positioned in the top 10. The French favor them because they offer a lower cost of life, better access to housing and greater security.

In contrast, the big cities no longer appeal to the French, they are neglected.
