He discussed with Griffiths the international efforts to enhance stability and the return of Syrians to their lives and work… President Assad Lakhrazi: The stage needs intensive dialogues and strategic action between the countries of the region

President Bashar al-Assad considered that this stage needs intensive dialogues and strategic action between the countries of the region, because the West at this stage may be more aggressive and will try to use all the tools it possesses within our societies, and this is what necessitates the countries of the region to deal accurately with internal conditions and strengthen belonging.

Yesterday, during his meeting with the head of the Council of Foreign Relations in the Islamic Republic of Iran, Kamal Kharrazi, President al-Assad discussed with Kharrazi a range of intellectual and political issues, and the developments and changes taking place in the world. However, the outcome of these transformations will be in our interest thanks to the steadfastness of our countries and peoples, and because of the grave mistakes in the policies and visions of the West, particularly the United States of America.

President al-Assad affirmed that this stage needs intensive dialogues and strategic action among the countries of the region, because the West at this stage may be more aggressive and will try to use all the tools it possesses within our societies. Relationships between them are strengthened in a way that secures a protection network for them from any aggressive policies in all its forms.

For his part, Kharrazi considered that in the midst of the large and rapid developments in the world, the countries of the region must have a clear vision for the future in a way that guarantees the protection of their interests, which calls for networking between them at various levels, and intensifying meetings and dialogues between officials, thinkers and those concerned with cultural and strategic affairs in them, pointing out Noting that the restoration of relations between Tehran and Riyadh, the strengthening of Syria’s relations with Arab countries, and the great progress in Russian-Chinese relations are positive steps in this context.

A dialogue also took place between President al-Assad and Kharrazi on the issue of identity and belonging and their connection to religion. His Excellency considered that the depth of identity must be researched because the hostile parties are trying to target identity and belonging. The West has put the young generation before two options, the first is to be a religious extremist, and the second is to be decadent and devoid of any Belonging and morals. Therefore, the challenge for our countries is to create for the young generation a third option based on preserving identity, culture and belonging in a way that is commensurate with the current era in a way that expresses pride in religion, national identity, and social and civilizational culture, stressing that our peoples throughout history have defended their identity, belonging and morals. Civilization that religion came to complement and enhance.

On the other hand, during his meeting yesterday with the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Martin Griffiths, President al-Assad discussed practical steps and procedures that could have a direct impact and results on the path of recovery from the repercussions of the earthquake disaster in various sectors, and at the same time It also contributes to securing appropriate conditions for the return of more Syrian refugees to their cities and villages.

President al-Assad and Griffiths discussed international efforts to support these steps and measures to help Syrians overcome the effects of war and earthquake, and to promote stability in Syria and the return of Syrians to their lives and jobs.
