Updated on 06/22/2022
Monday June 20, 2022, Marie-Françoise Lecaillon, prefect of Gard, inaugurated the EHPADEstablishment housing dependent elderly people “Le Bosquet – Les coquelicots” in Bagnols-sur-Cèze, in the presence of Jean-Yves Chapelet, mayor of the town, the Occitanie regional health agency and the Gard departmental council.
With more than 28% of the Gard population over the age of 60, the reception and accommodation of the elderly is a challenge for the territories. This hospital for dependent elderly people, located in the heart of the town of Bagnols-sur-Cèze, has been rebuilt and extended to reach an area of 4,621 m² on 4 levels:
- a protected and secure accommodation unit for 15 disoriented people, with a garden of scents
- a large reception hall with the air of a village square with wellness areas (relaxation, hairdressing salon, treatment room and physiotherapy) all around
- two floors of unmarked accommodation with 31 beds each
- revegetation of the site: plantation of lime trees, catalpa and fruit trees, planted green spaces, green roof as well as ever green parking.
The work has made it possible to meet a real need for the population of Gard Rhône and contribute to ensuring dignified living conditions for the oldest citizens. The “Le Bosquet – Les Coquelicots” establishment will be able to provide reception conditions adapted to many residents with 75 permanent accommodation places and 2 temporary accommodation places. It received a grant of 600,000 euros as part of the Investment Aid Plan supported by the Caisse Nationale de Solidarité pour l’Autonomie.
