The first-to-market sedan to offer a better view for its driver, with the bonnet lowered 23 mm deeper and the A-pillar pulled back. The highest point of the roof has moved forward, from here the roof line runs back with a more dynamic drop, resulting in a sportier, more streamlined shape. The narrower wheel arches and increased track width also provide a sporty look, while the wheelbase has been increased by 35 mm.

There are a number of solutions for weight reduction, such as the boot lid, which is now made of plastic for the first time, making it 20% easier and more comfortable to move. The hinges were taken out, which allowed for a more harmonious design of the rear roof pillar.

In the passenger compartment you will find a horizontally oriented instrument panel, which is covered with a honeycomb-patterned air intake grille along its entire width. Material quality has improved, the instrument cluster is a 10.2-inch digital display.

The central touch screen is 9.0 inches, there will be wireless smartphone integration as well as a BOSE audio system with up to 12 speakers. A novelty is the specially designed front pair of seats, which is said to eliminate the forces that arise when driving and keep the passengers’ bodies in balance.

The all-new Civic hybrid powertrain features a newly developed 2.0-liter petrol engine; the thermal efficiency of the Atkinson cycle (low-blend) engine is an outstanding 41%. The protagonist of the two electric motors, the Civic, will be able to run on pure electric power. The system will deliver 184 horsepower and a combined torque peak of 315 Nm, and the car is expected to emit less than 110 g / km of CO2 and around 5.0 liters / 100 km.

The only thing that has been revealed about the powertrain is that it is a fixed-gear unit, but the factory promises the rookie will not only be the most fuel-efficient but also the most dynamic Civic model of all time.

But that’s not all: in 2023, Honda’s electric range will be expanded with three new models. One of these will be a purely electric urban crossover – this is preceded by the prototype e: Ny1 shown in the factory graphics.

In addition, two compact recreational vehicles will arrive: one is the new generation of the already well-known CR-V, which will be available with a full hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrain, and the other is an unnamed model with a full hybrid powertrain. The e: Ny1, which will debut in 2023, will definitely be bigger than the Honda e, making it the brand’s first electric family type.
