Al-Marsad Newspaper: Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan responded, at the World Policy Conference in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, on Sunday evening, to a question about the possibility of Iran obtaining nuclear weapons.
The foreign minister said: “We hear from the Iranians that they have no interest in obtaining a nuclear weapon, but we need more guarantees.”
And he continued: “If an agreement is not reached, I believe that we will enter into a very complex and dangerous period in our region that we must avoid, and even if an agreement is reached, this is not the end, and we must look beyond that for a strong agreement.”
He continued by saying: “The countries of the region will not want to be exposed to such a threat without reaction, so it can be expected that the countries of the region will seek how to ensure their security.”
