Jorge Barón became the presenter of television music programs with the longest career in the world

Jorge Barón broke the world record for the longest-running television music show host in the world, with 52 years and 299 days confirmed on March 19, 2022.

In commemoration of her discipline and long professional career, the Official Adjudicator of Guinness World Records, Natalia Ramírez, presented the official certificate at the Casa de Nariño, in the presence of President Iván Duque.

On May 24, 1969, the Colombian presenter began his broadcasts of the program ‘Show de las Estrellas’, in which he would have had Celia Cruz as a guest.

The renowned television program that consists of presenting musical artists and that started in a studio and then went to public squares, traveled to all corners of Colombia and cities around the world.

‘The Show of the Stars’ allowed Jorge Barón to visit 715 municipalities, travel 586,101 kilometers and entertain more than 9,180,000 people.

Likewise, with his program the Colombian presenter received awards and recognitions at a national and international level. In addition, they have given him more than 300 keys to different cities and it has been declared that Barón is the adopted son of 320 municipalities in Colombia.
