The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources aims to reduce the local market consumption of potash by increasing the rates of delivery of natural gas to households. According to estimates of the Ministry of Petroleum, Egypt’s production of potash is expected to increase by 0.52 million tons by the year 2015/2020 to 2.6 million tons. The gap between production and consumption will decrease to 1.3 million tons, representing 33.3%.
According to the data, natural gas was connected to 720,000 housing units by the end of the last fiscal year. The gas was connected to 27 new towns and villages for the first time, bringing the total number of units connected to natural gas since the start of the activity to date to more than 8.2 million units Housing.
