American Devin Haney, still undefeated at 21, retained his WBC lightweight crown against former title holder and Olympic 2004 gold medalist Cuban Yuriorkis Gamboa (38), by unanimous decision referees, Saturday in Florida.
Devin Haney, who had not fought for a year after undergoing shoulder surgery last January, easily won the meeting, which was held behind closed doors due to the coronavirus outbreak, which has kills more than 237,000 in the United States, facing a Gamboa whose long career seems to be coming to an end.
Devin Haney was declared WBC lightweight champion after the title was vacated by Ukrainian Vasyl Lomachenko.
