MGÖ subsidiary “Commerce24” enters the food delivery business – expansion to food delivery and a large retail shop as the next steps
Vienna (OTS) – Following its success in the television and moving image sector with oe24.TV and in the digital news sector with oe24.at, the media group AUSTRIA is now increasingly entering the e-commerce business.
On May 1st, the Mediengruppe AUSTRIA subsidiary “Commerce24” takes over the 51 percent majority in the new Austrian restaurant delivery service “HabGusta”.
“HabGusta” is a start-up founded a year ago by Ulas and Derya Celikkol and their team, which already operates a delivery service for more than 200 restaurants in Vienna. The restaurants’ menus are presented on the “HabGusta” online platform and then delivered by them themselves or by “HabGusta” couriers.
With the participation of the ÖSTERREICH media group, the “HabGusta” platform will receive significantly more marketing power in the future. A marketing investment of 8 million euros is already planned for the first financial year alone, which will include all media from the ÖSTERREICH media group as well as numerous TV spots on ORF and private TV, radio spots on Ö3 and extensive poster activities.
The aim of the new “HabGusta” is at least 50,000 registered customers after one year and gross sales of 20 million euros in the first financial year.
