Meghan Markle swears to stand the Grenfell Tower fire survivor as long as he has made "deep and personal" friendships

MEGHAN Markle has sworn to "support the survivors of the Grenfell Tower fire as long as necessary" to make sure they are not forgotten.

A source from the palace told The Mirror, "The Duchess has made regular private visits to Hubb's kitchen and wives and will continue to do so.
"She has said how moved she has been through courage and togetherness, and hopes that she will work together and collaborate on projects such as the book in which she will find strength."
Another source told the newspaper, "She has taken it to heart and sees it as her personal duty to help the survivors after being moved so deeply by their stories.

Meghan visited the kitchen for the first time in January of this year and has also made a number of private visits to meet the volunteers and be ready to put on an apron and help with food preparation.
The Duchess wrote the Foreword for the book "Together: Our Community Cookbook," which is a collection of 50 recipes from people using the Al Manaar Muslim Cultural Heritage Center's communal kitchen.
It is hoped that the book will bring in £ 250,000 to keep the kitchen open for two years.

Yesterday, survivor Marcio Gomes witnessed his shattering story telling his wife and children to "move on" as they fled for their lives.
He told the story of his desperate call 999 in a desperate cry for help and how he had to step over dead bodies during the 30 minutes it took to descend the stairs from the 21st floor.
