Dhe singer of the hit “Lean on Me”, Bill Withers, died at the age of 81. His family said on Friday that he died of heart complications in Los Angeles on Monday. “Ain’t No Sunshine” and “Lovely Day” are among the soulful songs that he wrote in the 1970s and that lasted through time.

The family was deeply saddened. “A loner with a heart that was driven to connect the general public with his poetry and music. He spoke honestly to people and brought them together, ”she wrote to the AP news agency. “In this difficult time, we pray that his music will provide comfort and entertainment while fans hug their loved ones.”
