"Technical problem" forces British Airways flight to Calgary to divert to Nunavut

IQALUIT, NUNAVUT – A British Airways flight from London to Calgary was diverted to Iqaluit late Wednesday.

FlightAware, an online flight tracking tool, shows that the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner has landed at 19:20. Local time in Nunavut.

British Airways said in a statement on Thursday that the flight was precautionary redirected to a "technical problem".

They apologized to their customers, who were in trouble and late.

The statement at noon MDT says a replacement plane has landed and will leave for Calgary as soon as possible.

They say the passengers in Iqaluit are safe and cared for.
