A brother of the head of state has achieved legal success in the dispute over a planned unveiling book for the niece of US President Donald Trump (74). A New York judge temporarily banned the publication of Mary Trump’s book (55) on Tuesday.
The measure is valid at least until July 10th. In the meantime, Mary Trump and her publisher should explain why the book does not violate an earlier confidentiality agreement, as directed by Donald Trump’s brother Robert (72).
The book “Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World‘s Most Dangerous Man” – in German, for example: “Too much and never enough: How my family created the most dangerous man in the world” – should only be published on July 28th . Mary Trump’s lawyer nevertheless immediately announced legal remedies against the decision of the New York State Supreme Court. This violates the freedom of expression guaranteed in the constitution.
Last week, Robert S. Trump failed at another New York court seeking an injunction against the book. The president’s brother accuses his niece of violating an earlier non-disclosure agreement regarding the legacy of the family patriarch Fred Trump – the father of Robert and Donald Trump – with the book.
According to Simon ist & Schuster, the daughter of Trump’s late brother Fred Trump Jr. paints a devastating picture of the family in the book. The publisher’s announcement promises to “highlight the dark family history” to explain how Donald Trump has become the man “who is now endangering global health, economic security, and social cohesion.”
Another disclosure book had recently made negative headlines about the president: In “The Room Where It Happened” – Trump’s former National Security Advisor John Bolton (71) makes serious allegations the president. The US government had tried in vain to prevent the work from appearing.
