JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – Commissioner of the National Police Commission (Kompolnas) Poengky Indarti said that the words of the National Police Chief “If I can’t clean the tail, I’ll cut off the head” is a very serious statement.

According to Poengky, the National Police Chief’s statement has a legal basis and its rules are contained in the Law on the Government and the National Police so that it is mandatory for all Police leaders to carry out.

“Both the head of the work unit, regional unit and function unit,” said Poengky in a video statement to Compass TV, Sunday (31/10/2021).

Police leaders must have a leadership spirit, in which they are able to guide, foster, care for, and provide good examples to their subordinates.

If you don’t have this leadership aspect, said Poengky, then the leader in question deserves to be removed.

“Don’t let yourself as a leader just be a kodamar (command in the room), don’t come down to greet subordinates or monitor and guide subordinates. So leaders must always be present to guide and set an example,” he explained.

Therefore, Kompolnas strongly supports the firm statement from the National Police Chief.

As reported, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo touched on leadership issues at the closing ceremony for the 30th Sespimti Polri Dikreg education, 61st Sespimen Polri Dikreg, and 66th Sespimma Polri in Lembang, West Java, Wednesday (27/10/2021). yesterday.

He quoted the proverb that the fish rots from the head, in other words, all internal problems in the police can occur because the leader has problems or is unable to be an example for his staff.
