The average number of coronavirus infections rose to 567.9 per day between July 29 and August 4, the Sciensano Public Health Institute said on Saturday in the data update of its dashboard. This represents an increase of 25% over the previous week. The number of infections in Belgium now stands at 72,784 against 72,016 on Thursday.
The number of new cases of Covid-19 per 100,000 inhabitants continues the same upward trend. For the period spanning two weeks, and until August 4 inclusive, 62.3 cases were identified, against 56.5 Thursday.
This Saturday, August 8, 232 municipalities have therefore exceeded the “alarm threshold” according to the latest consolidated data from Sciensano. Check in the map below if your municipality is part of it (the “Cumulative Incidence” will therefore be greater than or equal to 20).
Finally, here is the map and the table showing the number of cases reported in your town yesterday, since the start of phase 3 of deconfinement (June 8) and since the start of the epidemic.
