The Cantonniers de Magog ready for the TELUS Cup

The champions of the U18 AAA hockey league will represent Quebec.

Last April, the team led by Stéphane Robidas got their hands on a third consecutive Jimmy-Ferrari Cup.

It’s a grueling course for all the teams. From Monday, they will play one game a day, five games in five days, to try to qualify for the semi-finals.explains the spokesperson for the Cantonniers de Magog, Robert Legault.

« The success of Les Cantonniers is based on the development structure throughout the region. »

A quote from Robert Legault, spokesperson for the Cantonniers de Magog

To help finance their trip, the Cantonniers de Magog managed to collect $16,000 in donations from the community, in addition to those from the various levels of government and businesses. The City of Magog also gave them $5,000 to help them. In total, the team raised $35,000, and the league provided $15,000.

We wanted players to not miss anything during the tournament. The important thing is to win the preliminary matches as soon as possible to have the best position in the standings. Players will need to rest well, hydrate well and adapt to jet lag. The region is also at altitude, which requires adaptation.says Robert Legault.
