UFA, Jan 14 – RIA News. The girl who burned the Russian flag in Mordovia is not a daughter of a local official, but only his namesake, the government of the region told RIA Novosti.
Earlier, a video appeared on the Internet in which a girl throws a Russian flag into the fire, but later the entry was deleted. The police began to check. For damage to the national flag provides for criminal liability.
A representative of the regional government confirmed that the incident occurred in Saransk.
“We know that the police have now detained the girl and her friend, they are being interrogated as part of the check,” he added.
According to the agency interlocutor, the author of the video is 21-year-old Sophia Kechina. She studied in Moscow, worked as an animator in Cyprus.
"The Telegram channels report that one of the girls is the daughter of an employee of the Mordovian government who retired. This is false information. The Kechin name is quite common in the region, and we know that her father passed away two years ago. Information that she did an internship in the government of Mordovia, is also unreliable, "he concluded.
