BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) – While Republicans are mostly in Louisiana House, the Democrats were the best job organizers of the room. The Democrats voted as a Monday block for a Republican Clay Schexnayder to become a new House speaker. His support, along with almost two Republican dozen, met the owner of the Ascension Parish car repair business to a 60-45 victory on the first day of the new legislative term. Schexnayder broke the Republican Sherman Mack, the Attorney General Jeff Landry, US maker John Kennedy and the majority of Republican House, made the Livingston Parish lawyer very popular. Senators chose unanimously and chose Cortez Republican Page, of Lafayette, as the next president.
